Focus Graphite Inc. is an advanced exploration company with an objective of producing
flake graphite concentrate at its wholly owned Lac Knife and Lac Tétépisca flake
graphite projects located in Quebec, a jurisdiction that’s among the most favourable
towards mining development, particularly of projects that seek to mine critical and
battery minerals such as graphite. The Quebec government views itself as a partner in
the development of these resources, and the province’s extensive power and
transportation infrastructure eases the costs associated with development.
In 2014, Focus published a feasibility study (FS) for the Lac Knife Project, the results of
which were positive and indicated a strong return on investment. Further exploration
and testing over the subsequent years indicated that the high-quality graphite found at
Lac Knife would make it an excellent source for multiple technology and energy
applications. Focus has commissioned global Engineering firm DRA Americas Inc.
(DRA) to update its 2014 feasibility study for the Lac Knife project and prepare a new
technical report in accordance with the Canadian Securities Administrators’ National
Instrument (NI) 43-101 – Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects, which is
expected before the end of 2022.
At its Lac Tétépisca property, Focus is completing a comprehensive exploration drilling
campaign that will build upon the maiden resource estimate (MRE) published in
February 2022. Results from the MRE include a pit-constrained Indicated resource for
the Manicouagan-Ouest Graphitic Corridor (“MOGC”) Lac Tétépisca project of 59.3 Mt
tonnes (“Mt”) grading 10.61% Graphitic Carbon (“Cg”) for an estimated content of 6.3 Mt
of natural flake graphite in-situ, and an Inferred resource of 14.9 Mt grading 11.06% Cg
for an estimated content of 1.6 Mt of natural flake graphite in-situ. These exciting results
suggest that the deposit has the potential to become one of the largest sources of high-
quality flake graphite in North America.
In a second stage, to meet Québec stakeholder interests in developing second
transformation industries within the province and to add shareholder value, Focus is
evaluating the feasibility of producing value added specialty graphite products including
battery-grade spherical graphite. Today, Focus Graphite is well-positioned to supply
large, medium, fine, and superfine grade graphite products for a clean energy
technology economy as the world adopts measures to reduce carbon emissions – a key
contributor to global warming.
